FAQ
Common questions about internet in Burbank
How much does home internet cost in Burbank?
U-wifi Home Unlimited is $55 a month anywhere we're live in Burbank, whether you're in Warner Bros. Studios Burbank, Burbank Town Center or out by Woodbury University. The next-gen gateway, two-day shipping and your first 30 days are free, and there's no contract. Or pay nothing at all with FreeU: watch ads you choose in the U-wifi app and earn credit toward your bill.
How does free internet in Burbank work?
Every U-wifi customer in Burbank can switch on FreeU inside the U-wifi app. Our Choice Advertising model lets you pick the ads you see, and watching them earns credit against your monthly service. Watch enough and the $55 is covered. Keep watching past that and you earn U-Bonus points toward merchandise in the U-store. Same gateway, same unlimited data, same speeds.
How fast is U-wifi internet in Burbank?
Wired speeds in Burbank vary widely by street and neighborhood. Some blocks have gigabit fiber, others see DSL-era performance, and new developments may wait months for a line to be pulled. U-wifi doesn't tie you to one network. Our gateway picks the strongest 5G signal at your address across the major national carriers and switches if a better one appears, so you get the best speed available in your part of Burbank at any given hour. For the best signal, put the gateway near a window on the highest floor, facing the nearest tower.
Do wildfires and public safety power shutoffs affect internet service in Burbank?
Burbank faces wildfire season, public safety power shutoffs and winter atmospheric rivers. Because U-wifi runs on multiple carrier networks instead of a single cable line, if one tower goes down your gateway shifts to the next available one. During a major wildfire or power shutoff, service depends on carrier tower power and backup systems, but you're not waiting on a single provider to restore a damaged line.
Can I get U-wifi in an apartment in Burbank?
Yes. Apartment buildings around Downtown Burbank station and Burbank Town Center get U-wifi service the same day you plug in the gateway. The gateway plugs into any outlet and works best near a window. No drilling, no antennas on the roof and nothing to remove when you move out. The gateway's wifi covers a typical 2,500 square foot home and supports up to 256 devices, so a one-bedroom or a shared house is fine.
How do I set up U-wifi in Burbank?
Enter your Burbank address to confirm coverage, order, and the gateway arrives within two days. Plug it in, find the U-wifi network on your phone or laptop, and enter the password printed on the bottom of the gateway. That's the whole install. No technician, no appointment window, and your first 30 days are a free trial.
What happens if I move within Burbank?
Pack the gateway, plug it in at the new address and connect as usual. Then sign in to your U-wifi account and update your address. Nothing to return, nothing to reschedule, and the price stays the same.
What areas near Burbank does U-wifi serve?
U-wifi is live across Burbank and in Glendale, Los Angeles and Pasadena. Enter your address to confirm availability at your home. If you're on the edge of coverage, the gateway also supports an external antenna for weaker 5G areas.
