Coverage by area
Neighborhoods we cover in Kettering
- 01
The Greene Town Center
Outdoor shopping, dining, and apartments that opened after the retail center was built. New leases start before cable trucks arrive; a plug-in gateway gets you online the day you move in.
- 02
Oakwood
Tree-lined streets, older homes, and families who've been here for decades. A multi-carrier connection means you're not stuck with whoever laid cable in 1980.
- 03
Kettering Health Main Campus
Medical district with staff housing, visiting families, and short-term rentals nearby. People need reliable internet without signing a year-long contract or waiting for an installer.
- 04
Town and Country Shopping Center
Mid-century retail hub surrounded by apartments and single-family blocks. Older buildings sometimes have outdated wiring; a tower signal skips the walls and connects from the window.
- 05
Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum
Historic landmark with residential blocks on every side. Homes here range from Victorian to postwar ranch; U-wifi works in all of them without drilling or running new cable.
- 06
University of Dayton
Campus housing, off-campus rentals, and students who move every year. Pack your gateway in May, plug it in at your next place in August, update your address in the app.
FAQ
Common questions about internet in Kettering
How much does home internet cost in Kettering?
U-wifi Home Unlimited is $55 a month anywhere we're live in Kettering, whether you're in Oakwood, The Greene Town Center or out by Town and Country Shopping Center. The next-gen gateway, two-day shipping and your first 30 days are free, and there's no contract. Or pay nothing at all with FreeU: watch ads you choose in the U-wifi app and earn credit toward your bill.
How does free internet in Kettering work?
Every U-wifi customer in Kettering can switch on FreeU inside the U-wifi app. Our Choice Advertising model lets you pick the ads you see, and watching them earns credit against your monthly service. Watch enough and the $55 is covered. Keep watching past that and you earn U-Bonus points toward merchandise in the U-store. Same gateway, same unlimited data, same speeds.
How fast is U-wifi internet in Kettering?
Wired speeds in Kettering vary by street and neighborhood, with some blocks seeing fiber and others stuck on old cable infrastructure. U-wifi delivers true broadband over 5G, and actual speeds depend on which carrier has the strongest signal at your address. U-wifi doesn't tie you to one network. Our gateway picks the strongest 5G signal at your address across the major national carriers and switches if a better one appears, so you get the best speed available in your part of Kettering at any given hour. For the best signal, put the gateway near a window on the highest floor, facing the nearest tower.
Do winter storms and tornadoes affect internet service in Kettering?
Kettering sees ice storms in winter and spring tornadoes that can knock out power and damage infrastructure. Because U-wifi connects to multiple carrier networks instead of a single cable line, if one tower goes down your gateway shifts to the next available signal. During a major storm, service depends on carrier tower power and backup systems, but you're not waiting on a single provider to send a repair truck.
Can I get U-wifi in an apartment in Kettering?
Yes. Apartment-heavy areas around The Greene Town Center and University of Dayton see a lot of leases and turnovers every year. The gateway plugs into any outlet and works best near a window. No drilling, no antennas on the roof and nothing to remove when you move out. The gateway's wifi covers a typical 2,500 square foot home and supports up to 256 devices, so a one-bedroom or a shared house is fine.
How do I set up U-wifi in Kettering?
Enter your Kettering address to confirm coverage, order, and the gateway arrives within two days. Plug it in, find the U-wifi network on your phone or laptop, and enter the password printed on the bottom of the gateway. That's the whole install. No technician, no appointment window, and your first 30 days are a free trial.
What happens if I move within Kettering?
Pack the gateway, plug it in at the new address and connect as usual. Then sign in to your U-wifi account and update your address. Nothing to return, nothing to reschedule, and the price stays the same.
What areas near Kettering does U-wifi serve?
U-wifi is live across Kettering and in Beavercreek, Dayton and Huber Heights. Enter your address to confirm availability at your home. If you're on the edge of coverage, the gateway also supports an external antenna for weaker 5G areas.
