Coverage by area
Neighborhoods we cover in Westerville
- 01
Otterbein University
Campus housing and off-campus rentals for students who move every year. A gateway that ships free and plugs in without an installer means you're online before the first day of class.
- 02
Polaris Fashion Place
Shopping, dining and newer apartment complexes in the northern retail corridor. Tower coverage is strong, and a multi-carrier gateway keeps you connected even when one network gets congested.
- 03
Worthington
Historic downtown, tree-lined streets and a mix of older homes and new infill. Wired build-out is uneven; a 5G connection works the same on every block.
- 04
Alum Creek State Park
Recreational area and nearby residential pockets east of the city. Cable doesn't always reach the edges, but carrier towers do.
- 05
Minerva Park
Small enclave village surrounded by Westerville and Columbus. Independent addresses sometimes fall through the cracks for wired service; tower-based internet covers them all.
- 06
Genoa Township
Rapid residential growth north of the city limits. New streets appear faster than fiber crews can trench; a plug-in gateway works the week you close.
FAQ
Common questions about internet in Westerville
How much does home internet cost in Westerville?
U-wifi Home Unlimited is $55 a month anywhere we're live in Westerville, whether you're in Otterbein University, Polaris Fashion Place or out by Worthington. The next-gen gateway, two-day shipping and your first 30 days are free, and there's no contract. Or pay nothing at all with FreeU: watch ads you choose in the U-wifi app and earn credit toward your bill.
How does free internet in Westerville work?
Every U-wifi customer in Westerville can switch on FreeU inside the U-wifi app. Our Choice Advertising model lets you pick the ads you see, and watching them earns credit against your monthly service. Watch enough and the $55 is covered. Keep watching past that and you earn U-Bonus points toward merchandise in the U-store. Same gateway, same unlimited data, same speeds.
How fast is U-wifi internet in Westerville?
Wired speeds in Westerville vary by street and neighborhood, depending on whether fiber, coax or DSL reached your block. U-wifi delivers true broadband over whichever carrier network is strongest at your address. U-wifi doesn't tie you to one network. Our gateway picks the strongest 5G signal at your address across the major national carriers and switches if a better one appears, so you get the best speed available in your part of Westerville at any given hour. For the best signal, put the gateway near a window on the highest floor, facing the nearest tower.
Do winter storms and tornadoes affect internet service in Westerville?
Ice storms and spring severe weather are the main risks in Westerville. Because U-wifi runs on multiple carrier networks instead of a single cable line, if one tower goes down your gateway shifts to the next available one. During a major tornado or ice event, service depends on carrier tower power and whether lines stay up, but you're not waiting on a single provider to send a truck.
Can I get U-wifi in an apartment in Westerville?
Yes. Apartment buildings around Otterbein University and Polaris Fashion Place can plug in a U-wifi gateway without waiting for a provider appointment. The gateway plugs into any outlet and works best near a window. No drilling, no antennas on the roof and nothing to remove when you move out. The gateway's wifi covers a typical 2,500 square foot home and supports up to 256 devices, so a one-bedroom or a shared house is fine.
How do I set up U-wifi in Westerville?
Enter your Westerville address to confirm coverage, order, and the gateway arrives within two days. Plug it in, find the U-wifi network on your phone or laptop, and enter the password printed on the bottom of the gateway. That's the whole install. No technician, no appointment window, and your first 30 days are a free trial.
What happens if I move within Westerville?
Pack the gateway, plug it in at the new address and connect as usual. Then sign in to your U-wifi account and update your address. Nothing to return, nothing to reschedule, and the price stays the same.
What areas near Westerville does U-wifi serve?
U-wifi is live across Westerville and in Dublin, Columbus and Grove City. Enter your address to confirm availability at your home. If you're on the edge of coverage, the gateway also supports an external antenna for weaker 5G areas.
