FAQ
Common questions about internet in Murray
How much does home internet cost in Murray?
U-wifi Home Unlimited is $55 a month anywhere we're live in Murray, whether you're in Murray City Park, Fashion Place or out by Intermountain Medical Center. The next-gen gateway, two-day shipping and your first 30 days are free, and there's no contract. Or pay nothing at all with FreeU: watch ads you choose in the U-wifi app and earn credit toward your bill.
How does free internet in Murray work?
Every U-wifi customer in Murray can switch on FreeU inside the U-wifi app. Our Choice Advertising model lets you pick the ads you see, and watching them earns credit against your monthly service. Watch enough and the $55 is covered. Keep watching past that and you earn U-Bonus points toward merchandise in the U-store. Same gateway, same unlimited data, same speeds.
How fast is U-wifi internet in Murray?
Wired speeds in Murray vary by street and neighborhood, depending on where each provider ran their lines. Your U-wifi speed depends on the carrier signal at your address, and the gateway always picks the strongest one available. U-wifi doesn't tie you to one network. Our gateway picks the strongest 5G signal at your address across the major national carriers and switches if a better one appears, so you get the best speed available in your part of Murray at any given hour. For the best signal, put the gateway near a window on the highest floor, facing the nearest tower.
Do winter storms and wildfires affect my internet service in Murray?
Winter storms and wildfire season are the main weather risks along the Wasatch Front. Because U-wifi runs on multiple carrier networks instead of a single cable line, if one tower goes down your gateway shifts to the next available signal. During a major storm or active fire, service depends on carrier tower power and whether evacuation or weather has taken towers offline, but you're not waiting on a single provider to send a truck.
Can I get U-wifi in an apartment in Murray?
Yes. Apartments and condos around Fashion Place and near Murray Central station get the same plug-and-play setup as single-family homes across the city. The gateway plugs into any outlet and works best near a window. No drilling, no antennas on the roof and nothing to remove when you move out. The gateway's wifi covers a typical 2,500 square foot home and supports up to 256 devices, so a one-bedroom or a shared house is fine.
How do I set up U-wifi in Murray?
Enter your Murray address to confirm coverage, order, and the gateway arrives within two days. Plug it in, find the U-wifi network on your phone or laptop, and enter the password printed on the bottom of the gateway. That's the whole install. No technician, no appointment window, and your first 30 days are a free trial.
What happens if I move within Murray?
Pack the gateway, plug it in at the new address and connect as usual. Then sign in to your U-wifi account and update your address. Nothing to return, nothing to reschedule, and the price stays the same.
What areas near Murray does U-wifi serve?
U-wifi is live across Murray and in Taylorsville, West Jordan and Sandy. Enter your address to confirm availability at your home. If you're on the edge of coverage, the gateway also supports an external antenna for weaker 5G areas.
