FAQ
Common questions about internet in Taylorsville
How much does home internet cost in Taylorsville?
U-wifi Home Unlimited is $55 a month anywhere we're live in Taylorsville, whether you're in Murray, West Jordan or out by Kearns. The next-gen gateway, two-day shipping and your first 30 days are free, and there's no contract. Or pay nothing at all with FreeU: watch ads you choose in the U-wifi app and earn credit toward your bill.
How does free internet in Taylorsville work?
Every U-wifi customer in Taylorsville can switch on FreeU inside the U-wifi app. Our Choice Advertising model lets you pick the ads you see, and watching them earns credit against your monthly service. Watch enough and the $55 is covered. Keep watching past that and you earn U-Bonus points toward merchandise in the U-store. Same gateway, same unlimited data, same speeds.
How fast is U-wifi internet in Taylorsville?
Wired speeds in Taylorsville vary by street and neighborhood. Some blocks have fiber, others have older cable, and many newer streets are still waiting for service to reach them. U-wifi doesn't tie you to one network. Our gateway picks the strongest 5G signal at your address across the major national carriers and switches if a better one appears, so you get the best speed available in your part of Taylorsville at any given hour. For the best signal, put the gateway near a window on the highest floor, facing the nearest tower.
Do winter storms and wildfires affect internet service in Taylorsville?
Winter storms and wildfire season are the main risks in the Salt Lake Valley. Because U-wifi runs on multiple carrier networks instead of a single cable line, if one tower goes down your gateway shifts to the next available one. During a major weather event, service depends on carrier tower power, but you're not waiting on a single provider to send a truck.
Can I get U-wifi in an apartment in Taylorsville?
Yes. Apartment-heavy areas near Salt Lake Community College and Fashion Place get the same unlimited plan with a gateway that needs no landlord permission. The gateway plugs into any outlet and works best near a window. No drilling, no antennas on the roof and nothing to remove when you move out. The gateway's wifi covers a typical 2,500 square foot home and supports up to 256 devices, so a one-bedroom or a shared house is fine.
How do I set up U-wifi in Taylorsville?
Enter your Taylorsville address to confirm coverage, order, and the gateway arrives within two days. Plug it in, find the U-wifi network on your phone or laptop, and enter the password printed on the bottom of the gateway. That's the whole install. No technician, no appointment window, and your first 30 days are a free trial.
What happens if I move within Taylorsville?
Pack the gateway, plug it in at the new address and connect as usual. Then sign in to your U-wifi account and update your address. Nothing to return, nothing to reschedule, and the price stays the same.
What areas near Taylorsville does U-wifi serve?
U-wifi is live across Taylorsville and in Murray, West Valley City and West Jordan. Enter your address to confirm availability at your home. If you're on the edge of coverage, the gateway also supports an external antenna for weaker 5G areas.
